Now booking summer and fall sessions. 2011 Seniors - now is your time! 2010-06-18
Almost, because it’s the end of June! Where is the year going? Up here in the north, summer is almost half over and it seems like it’s really not even gotten going yet. Kids will be going back to school before we know it. The grass is green and the skies are so blue and the air is warm and fresh. It’s the perfect time for photographs! I’m booking July and into August now. Several dates are already filled so schedule soon to ensure a date for you. I’m working on a senior package for those of you interested. If that’s you, drop me an email and tell me to put a rush on it! I hope to have it ready and posted before the weekend is over, so hang in there! I’m really looking forward to working with the 2008 seniors this year! More to come on that later.
What have I been up to? I’m being the mom. The kids are keeping me on my toes, the pets are doing their fair share too. We’ve spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and warm sun and swimming in the pool. The parks are fun this time of year too! Biking and walking the dog are relaxing though we don’t do enough of it for sure.
This week I’ve become extra interested in silhouettes. Last night I tried out the technique on our kitty, Jelliebeanie, sitting on the deck railing. The sky was just gorgeous, as was she.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I love the photos that just come out so perfect to me. This is one of those photos. It’s likely not the best technically but it brings out so much to me, even though I know what the situation was. There is just something about it that draws me in and makes me want to know more. What do you think?

Come and take a little peek at the blooms around my yard! The peonies and the irises should be open soon but in the meantime the lilacs graced the front yard and tempted my nose! With the tree right outside my bedroom window, it was an amazing way to wake up!

And just a short walk down the bike path I captured these gems.

My sister came to visit last week and we decided that a morning trip to the zoo would be a fun way to kick off summer vacation and a nice way to spend some quality time with everyone. It was chilly and overcast with a few breaks of sun but with the zoo nearly empty we were able to enjoy it so much! Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

And the flowers there were so beautiful. I let the kids explore a little bit while I captured a few macro shots for my own favorite stash!

I love when the weather is as nice as it has been. Besides being warm and cozy, it’s inspiring. The light fills my camera and provides me so many options with what I see through the lens. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my kiddos and pets and capturing the things they love to do in the summer.
