Scheduling Update

August 29, 2010

I still have a few dates still available for sessions in September and October but I’m sure they will fill soon. All 2010 sessions must take place before October 25th, 2010 so book your family holiday sessions ASAP!   There are a some weekday sessions and a few weekend sessions still open. Please contact me for more information and available dates as soon as possible to ensure your 2010 session.

TGIF!

August 6, 2010

There seems to be nothing better than a Friday in the summer for so many people. Looking forward to the weekend ahead of sunshine and playtime. This time of year, my weekends are busy – I’m shooting sessions! I look forward to them all the same – it’s time to get my creativity groove on!

I just wanted to share a little note that there are still some time slots available for the Back to School mini sessions so book those up! The first date is just over 2 weeks away and is a perfect time for back to school fun! I will add more dates if these fill up.

Also, I have so many people ask for wheat field images. I love the wheat fields! The problem is, August really is the only good time for these sessions around here. July is too early – well the wheat isn’t as tall as it could be and not as amber and by September, many of the fields are harvested and plowed under. So if these sessions are something you’re after for your senior session or your family session, maybe a beautiful maternity belly or some fun little ones playing around – contact me ASAP to get those scheduled this month.

Happy weekend everyone! Get out there and enjoy some summer!

School starts in the Fargo-Moorhead area in the next month! Summer seems to go by so quickly these days – when I was a kid they seemed to last forever. Now, as a parent, I feel like we’re in the time crunch to get so many things done and ready to go! It’s a bit overwhelming but exciting too.

School pictures are a big part of the beginning of the year, something some kids plan out days or weeks ahead of time – what to wear, how to do their hair – only to be put on a dark blue background, posed the same as every other kid in the school, and that freshly done hair combed straight and tucked behind ears. YIKES! While this is the way it’s always been, sort of a necessity of the new school year, it doesn’t have to be your child’s only picture for the year. Let me capture your child’s personality, in fun settings, with a variety of poses, and have some really neat – full sized wallet images to hand out to friends and family! Older kids think the big wallets are extra cool! And ask me about that metallic finish – it’s gorgeous!

I’m trying something different for the Back to School mini session special this year – I’m setting up two dates and two locations – you choose which suits you best!  The 20 minute sessions are quick but adequate, which is great for little ones. Online ordering makes the process quick and easy. Additional prints and products are also available.  A $160 value for $100!!

Here are the pretty details:

Sessions are from 8:30am and end at 11:30am each day. They are scheduled on the half hour.  Contact me for more details or to schedule your session for your child(ren) – These are going to be so much fun!

Today marks my 18th week of pregnancy! We are expecting precious baby #4 in the middle of December! James and I kept this little secret to ourselves for a few months before sharing with friends and family and the kids.  It was a bit tough to keep it all in sometimes but it was nice to hold onto something just for us for a little bit. Everything is going well and the little one is wiggling around just perfectly! We find out if we’re having a boy or girl in 2 weeks! We’re all really excited for that though between the 5 of us, our ‘wish’ list for gender all varies. I really can’t wait to share all about the baby and spend plenty of time snuggling and loving on an adorable little newborn! 5 months to go!

I did take a little break from sessions the past couple of months. Between exhaustion and nausea and keeping up the household no matter what, I just couldn’t do it. But I’m back into the swing of things now and am going to try to book as many sessions as I can handle all before October 21st this fall. This is a couple weeks shorter than my normal end of sessions for the year but as you can imagine, I’m going to need that time to finish sessions and sales and to get ready for a new baby and the holidays. I’ll also be taking the first few months of the year off and will be booking a limited number of sessions each month in 2011 to take care of the little one. Please plan ahead when planning for sessions!

To give a little boost to the session planning – I’m having a 4 day sale to celebrate or 4th little bundle! This is a good one – don’t miss out! Something I forgot to add – these credits can be used along side referral credits and other discounts you may have earned as well!

Lola

July 12, 2010

For those that follow the blog well, you know that Lola is a frequent client of mine and I just adore her more and more every time! I know that I always say this, but it’s been such a joy to see her grow and change and turn into a little lady over the past three years. Yes, she’s 3!! Yesterday was a really fun session! We met at Concordia park and Miss Lola really let her personality and giggles out! I giggled right along with her and enjoyed getting to spend time with her. We had perfect weather and light and silly play. Happy birthday Lola!

And what you don’t know is that Lola has the silliest daddy around! She kept telling me, “look at my daddy!” and we’d all just giggle. I sure wish I had eyes in the back of my head because he sure was getting some great belly laughs out of her!

Nathan & Joe

May 25, 2010

A couple of my very favorite clients! I photographed these handsome boys last week at their home and neighborhood park. I always enjoy time with them and love seeing how they’ve grown and changed and I like to think they’re growing a little fond of me too! :) Spring is such a great time for sessions – warm, sunny weather and kiddos with personalities ready to be oozed out into all kinds of fun. I love this whole session but here are just a few to share for now.

Cheri & Riley

March 26, 2010

I had a giggly fun time with Cheri and Riley at the Plains Art Museum this week. Riley would let me take a few pictures of him and then he’d say, “ok, Mommy’s turn.” It was so cute! I just adore their sweet faces.

Happy Birthday To Me!

February 4, 2010

It’s my birthday and I’m sharing it with you! Come celebrate with me and check out these cool specials!

The cuteness was overflowing on Sunday at the Plains Art Museum with this way too cute family. We giggled and laughed through the whole session and I just had a really great time. I just love my job!

Happy Holidays!

December 25, 2009

As Fargo is being blown under in a blizzard, I send out a little piece of warmth from my home to yours. As much as I love the look and feel of a great holiday card, I’m doing my part to do things a little greener and to do some digital sending instead.

We’ve had a good day. It didn’t start too early and we made it through all the gift opening in pretty good time. They enjoyed the tasks of opening gifts that were covered in packaging tape and one with using only their teeth. We spent the afternoon with my brother and his family and my mom. We didn’t let the snow keep us in too much! Hannah ended her day getting her first dose of winter driving. Thank you to my brother for letting her and to my mom for being so brave to ride along! We came home to a snow plowed in driveway which required us to do some shoveling before we could get up it and into the garage. Connor made a snow fort in the drift on the side of the house. Dillan fell asleep early – what a tuckered little guy. James, he wore shorts and a t-shirt all day.

I’m so thankful for all that I have and have been given. I’m so appreciative of all the joys in my life. I’m actually enjoying the 20ish inches of snow that we’re getting and love that the kids and dogs can actually get out and play in it for a change.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful day with friends and family and best wishes as we wind down the year and enter freshly into a new one!
