Scheduling Update

August 29, 2010

I still have a few dates still available for sessions in September and October but I’m sure they will fill soon. All 2010 sessions must take place before October 25th, 2010 so book your family holiday sessions ASAP!   There are a some weekday sessions and a few weekend sessions still open. Please contact me for more information and available dates as soon as possible to ensure your 2010 session.

TGIF!

August 6, 2010

There seems to be nothing better than a Friday in the summer for so many people. Looking forward to the weekend ahead of sunshine and playtime. This time of year, my weekends are busy – I’m shooting sessions! I look forward to them all the same – it’s time to get my creativity groove on!

I just wanted to share a little note that there are still some time slots available for the Back to School mini sessions so book those up! The first date is just over 2 weeks away and is a perfect time for back to school fun! I will add more dates if these fill up.

Also, I have so many people ask for wheat field images. I love the wheat fields! The problem is, August really is the only good time for these sessions around here. July is too early – well the wheat isn’t as tall as it could be and not as amber and by September, many of the fields are harvested and plowed under. So if these sessions are something you’re after for your senior session or your family session, maybe a beautiful maternity belly or some fun little ones playing around – contact me ASAP to get those scheduled this month.

Happy weekend everyone! Get out there and enjoy some summer!

Whew.

March 23, 2010

What a crazy couple weeks this was! Finally, the river is on the decline, already dropping more than a foot in a couple days. As crazy as it is and as hectic as it gets, Fargo rises to the challenge and pulls it off! I’ll be done with the river pictures for awhile – I’ll get out there when things are close to normal again and snap a few more for comparison. I’ve had many great compliments here and on Facebook and by email for showing the day to day changes. The geek in me likes to show those kinds of things. I also know that plenty of people that live here don’t get to see that every day on their own and certainly people that don’t live here have no idea otherwise. I’ve seen clips on the news showing the many people hanging out on the Main Avenue bridge to get their own shots and to see the river for themselves. It certainly has be a local hot spot this week!

So, back to other matters – I said I wasn’t shooting anymore this month but within days that changed. I’ve photographed 2 sessions that I’ll get posted soon and will have another one next week! I’ll be posting those soon! Spring is right around the corner [we hope!!] and session dates are filling up. My weekend available dates decrease in the spring for family/sports obligations. If you’re thinking of a session before the end of the school year, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, schedule soon to ensure a date with delivery time before you need them.

2010 Seniors – we’re ordering announcements! Don’t forget to make your appointment or place your order soon! Graduation will sneak up on you with all the fun things going on in the next couple of months.

2011 Seniors – NOW is the time to get your spring or summer session scheduled!

Is it too early to talk about the holidays? I’m just going to mention it now real quick. Every fall I have to turn away some families for holiday card sessions because they wait too long to schedule and I fill up for those pretty fast. Especially those wanting fall leaves – we know those are only around for a week or two! Schedule now, reserve your spot, ensure your session early. You won’t forget, I’ll send out reminders!

March Newsletter coming soon – are you signed up?!

Happy Birthday To Me!

February 4, 2010

It’s my birthday and I’m sharing it with you! Come celebrate with me and check out these cool specials!

The cuteness was overflowing on Sunday at the Plains Art Museum with this way too cute family. We giggled and laughed through the whole session and I just had a really great time. I just love my job!

A Whole Lotta Cuties!

January 19, 2010

This family got together for the holidays this year and asked me to photograph their family all together. With 4 young kids, 6 adults and 2 dogs – that was quite a challenge but we had a fun time and got some great shots. I pulled a handful of images to show off for the family.

Thank you all for allowing me into your home to photograph your family!

Happy Holidays!

December 25, 2009

As Fargo is being blown under in a blizzard, I send out a little piece of warmth from my home to yours. As much as I love the look and feel of a great holiday card, I’m doing my part to do things a little greener and to do some digital sending instead.

We’ve had a good day. It didn’t start too early and we made it through all the gift opening in pretty good time. They enjoyed the tasks of opening gifts that were covered in packaging tape and one with using only their teeth. We spent the afternoon with my brother and his family and my mom. We didn’t let the snow keep us in too much! Hannah ended her day getting her first dose of winter driving. Thank you to my brother for letting her and to my mom for being so brave to ride along! We came home to a snow plowed in driveway which required us to do some shoveling before we could get up it and into the garage. Connor made a snow fort in the drift on the side of the house. Dillan fell asleep early – what a tuckered little guy. James, he wore shorts and a t-shirt all day.

I’m so thankful for all that I have and have been given. I’m so appreciative of all the joys in my life. I’m actually enjoying the 20ish inches of snow that we’re getting and love that the kids and dogs can actually get out and play in it for a change.

I hope everyone else had a wonderful day with friends and family and best wishes as we wind down the year and enter freshly into a new one!

Thank You!

December 25, 2009

As 2009 in nearing it’s end, I’ve taken some time the past few days to think about so many things that I want to do in 2010. But every time I look ahead, I also look behind. I glance through blog posts and online albums, I see the images that are a top my desk. And I feel such a rush and am full of heartfelt gratitude and warmth and am ever thankful every day for my awesome clients that have made this year extra amazing. I’ve met some really amazing families – full of hope and strength and neverending love. I’ve laughed and played and held newborn precious bundles in my arms. I’ve been licked and sniffed by dogs, kept at a distance by cats [and those of you that know cats, you know this is totally ok]. I’ve worked with families and babies, pets, high school seniors, friends and siblings. I’ve been so blessed to be in the company that I am – to have made friends with my clients and hold them close to my heart. And I am so thankful upside down, backwards and sideways to be doing what I love. Those of you that know me well know that my family comes first in my life. My kids are my everything. They drive me to be my best so that I can inspire them to be their best. They are why I fell in love with photography and they are why I hope that I can continue to love photography forever, and share it with all of you.

We’re smack in the middle of the holiday and in Fargo, a blizzard. My feisty young ones are tucked in and sound asleep. The tree shines it’s pretty white lights. The packages are all placed. And before I go to sleep I needed to share my Thank You.

Here’s a look back at 2009 and all of you who chose me to create something special for you. I am thankful for you and hope to see you again soon! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season and in welcoming 2010!

Miss Grace

December 13, 2009

There is nothing more precious than a newborn baby. And Miss Grace is no exception. Born at just 28 weeks and 2 days, precious takes on a whole other meaning. But now at 36.5 weeks, she’s doing well! I photographed her two weeks ago as part of the Pictures of Hope Foundation.  I feel so blessed to have been there to photograph Grace’s first real bath and to document some of her daily routine with parents, Travis and Joni, who are so wonderful and totally in love with their precious baby girl. Here are a few images from our time together. I can’t wait to see this family again!

Extended Family

December 3, 2009

You may recognize these cutie boys from a previous session a few weeks ago. Now with mom and dad and the rest of  the family too! We gathered at the Plains Art Museum for this session and the boys were in heaven with the wide open spaces. One of these days I’m going to make a big post of the years out takes and there are a few from this session that just crack me up. What a fun trio!
