It is with a very heavy heart that I sit down to type that I’m quitting the project365. I was so determined to complete the whole year but I have been just too busy to keep up. And there have been days since my last entry that I have forgotten to take an image for the day. It’s just too hard to keep going. This makes me so sad. I love this project! I’m just not quite organized enough to keep up the every day amongst all the other busy life chores I have going on.
I will leave the images all here - they aren’t going anywhere. I love the record of half the year! And I will do some thinking through the next little while to decide if I will start up a new project in 2009!
Thanks you BIG TIME to all of you who have followed along and commented and shared my every day. Please continue to read the biz blog and see what new things I’m up to! And maybe I’ll be creative enough to think of a new project for the new year. Share your ideas if you have them!
Dear Project 365 followers, this has been a busy 2 months for me. Photographically, that’s really good. For the project, that’s not so good. As a mom, that’s really good - I just sent all my kids off to school last week and have some time for me again.
I’ve done very well with the project by continuing to take images every day [I've missed a couple here and there but made up for it the next day] - only they didn’t come off my camera right away and then they are put on hold while i work on business items. I realize I’m very backlogged and that is a very overwhelming feeling. I WANT to do them but other things are taking priority. I’ve not made the project a priority for more than a month now. And that makes me so so sad.
For the past few days I’ve been trying to decide if I should stop the project or continue with it, knowing that I have so much work to get done to get it back on track. But I’ve already taken all the pictures - that’s not the problem, it’s just getting them uploaded. So I’ve done half of the requirement already - why would I give up on that?
I realize it’s going to take some doing to get caught up, and I plan to. So hang in there with me. I think I’ve devised a plan…
Starting today - I will get my images posted daily again. I will try so hard to make this work. And as I have time [which may not be for awhile yet] I will go back and fill in all the days that I’ve yet to process and post. I will backdate them so they’ll continue to go in order. You’ll need backtrack to see them since they won’t pop up as new. But by year’s end - I hope to be all caught up and complete.
This was a goal I had set for myself before the new year even began. I started it out so well and stuck with it through some hard times. It would be really foolish of me to come this far and quit now. I can’t make promises. Today it sounds so good to try to keep it going but tomorrow that could be so different and I lose sight of it again.
I’ll try.

I captured this gem of my sweet girl while working on some different pet photography techniques. It wasn’t exactly what I was going for but it turned out so nice anyway. I just love her! And those eyes melt me.

I just love my puppies! Those faces are so irresistable. They’ve become good friends - though you might not know it with all the open mouth and teeth flaring wrestling going on around here! Casey is already bigger than Ruby and he’s not even 6 months old yet!

James and I treated ourselves to some ice cream treats tonight. So yummy!

Sometimes I think my kitten forgets that the bugs are on the other side of the glass. That doesn’t keep her from trying though. Especially in the evening when the dogs go outside and I turn on the deck light, the bugs swarm and little Miss Millie goes a little kitty psycho! It’s amazing how high she can jump!

Connor has been begging for tennis rackets ever since we moved into the house and the courts were just a couple blocks down the road. I had been putting it off, honestly, I know nothing about the sport. RFinally, he got his rackets and we went down to play. It was steaming hot in the mid day sun but he played like a champ! He wants to take lessons. I’m sure he’ll do great!

The days of making forts in the house were so fun! My kids do it pretty regularly, much more common in the dreary winter months but today it was just so warm and Dillan felt like being indoors. He took ALL the cushions from the couch - all 18 of them - and made a fort. He rearranged it several times and then all of a sudden he was just out. I guess fort construction is really hard work!

This is a new project I’m starting, taking pictures in the rear view mirrors. Life looks different when you’re looking back. This was a test shot so I could see how to position my camera [I was stopped] to capture just what I wanted in the mirror. This was a trip to the grocery store.

Dillan has needed a new bike for awhile now. He had Connor’s hand-me-down which was already well used and Dillan put it through it’s paces as well. He picked out this spiffy ne bike that just fits him so well!

We sold the Jeep about a month ago and have been looking around for just the new ride. We really liked a nice red Durango that we test drove but then found this one that has the third rowseating which is PERFECT! Our family will fit in so well and we don’t lose much in gas mileage compared to the Jeep or James’ pickup. I love my new Durango!

While having dinner at my mom’s house, the kids went outside to play and Caitlin found a toad. She promptly asked for a bucket to put it in and cared over it diligently before going off to look for another. She reminded me so much of myself when I was her age - always looking for critters to take care of. I think she was a bit sad when we had to let it go.

Who doesn’t love cheeseballs?! James and Dillan have a late night stuffing contest to see who could fit the most in at one time. Kinda gross but pretty funny!

This is one of the days that I almost didn’t get a picture for the day so I was scrambling late in the evening. Not my best work but these kitties are such love no matter what. They were cleaning up after James.

We had a nice storm roll through this evening and a sunset that lit up the western sky so brightly orange. What a sight it made for the already bright rainbow against a dark sky.

Tonight we had dinner at my brother’s house. All the kids went out to play in the very large sandbox tha tmy brother had built. It’s 4 kids and 3 dogs full! They all have such a fun time though. There is more than enough sand for everyone and they can dig deep and move sand around and be so creative.

I know I’ve said it before, at least 200 times, but my son has the bluest eyes of anyone I know! And when the light is just right, they photograph so well. I can’t resist this face. I love him so much!

All of my kids love to play checkers. And even at 5 years old, Dillan is quite good. We have a fun time playing together. He has a better time if he wins, but who doesn’t?

Just before leaving Nebraska and heading home to North Dakota, I followed Nicole to a cozy little restaurant for lunch. I’m pretty sure she has no idea I snapped this picture of the back of her spiffy Sportage!

Today we celebrated Miss Catherine’s 1st birthday! It was a gorgeous summer day, perfect for an outdoor party. What a fun day!

Early July 4th was spent at a party at the lake and this is where I met Max. He LOVES the lake and spent almost the entire time in it looking for fish! They say he even catches some here and there! Such a cutie!

Today I headed out of North Dakota, on my way to Nebraska, to do some photography sessions and visit friends. It was a long drive, especially by myself. But there is something calming about having that much time alone to just drive.

This photo needs no words really. My boy is just so cute. And with the warm sunset light - it’s almost perfect. I could snuggle him all day long!

Today marks the 1/2 way point of Project 365/366. I have successfully taken a picture a day for half a year!I’m so excited to have gotten this far and am still ambitious to continue on! I had a little beverage in celebration of a job well done! And it was 92* today!

This dog of mine, I love him so much. He’s just a crazy and always makes me laugh. He loves the water - well both of my Corgis do but he really goes all out. He jumps so high for that spray and ends up falling down. Dillan wasn’t being mean to him, he was just filling up the pool when Casey headbutted right in to play in the stream. So funny!

Yummy!! It was hot and I was tired and didn’t feel like putting in a lot of effort for dinner - especially after just coming home from the gym. So I whipped up a noodle salad and tossed some chicken onto the grill and then mixed it all together. I put it back into the fridge to get cold and ate it up. It was delicious!

I try not to include session images into my daily pictures but I loved this one too much to let it go. The little twins really look not so much alike these days and little Josh is catching up in size to Nick. Big sister Alexa just helps out with them so much. They’re all so gorgeous together.

Last night the storm came through and the rain came down so hard. I woke up to find my peonys laying on the ground. I took my camera out to get some fresh waterdrops on the pretty pink petals.

Dillan gets a balloon hat from the clown at the Bethany Homes fundraiser carnival. The white balloon that she’s tying on has an eyeball on the top of it. She added one to both blue antennae. Dillan thought he was pretty darn cool!

The swingset was falling apart when we moved in. Two years later and plenty of use by a dozen kids, it’s beyond help. The 2 swings still worked just fine but the rest of the parts were broken and too small for my kids. We deiced that if we were buying a trampoline, we would take down the swingset and have one less item in the yard. We got the trampoline a few weeks ago but the swingset didn’t come down until today. The boys and I worked hard and got it all taken apart and hauled out of here. I love watching them do things like this, they’re such good workers!
