Day 117 – Hurtles

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Yes, I said hurtles. That’s what Hannah inadvertently posted to her Facebook. And I thought it was perfect since I always felt like hurdles were painful! But Hannah’s doing great! She’s not the fastest and her form needs some work but I’m so proud of her for trying something that really made her so nervous. She’s one determined kiddo!

Day 102 – Window Art

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Crayola Window Markers have been a big hit here! The Easter Bunny brought them for my kids and the windows of my house will always be covered in art I’m sure. Hannah is my talented artist. Here she is doodling, trying out all the colors.

Day 83 – Sandbag Central

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

As the threat of the rising Red River becomes greater, so does the call for volunteers. I tagged along with Hannah’s class from Discovery Middle School to do a stretch of sandbagging and Sandbag Central. I was so impressed with these kids. We had some fun in between but they really worked their butts off.  We were sore by the end of it all but we know it was doing some good for the people in our city. And it was fun!

Day 79 – The Look

Friday, March 20th, 2009

My dad is in town visiting so we can celebrate his birthday.  We stayed at the Holiday Inn for a few days [we slept at home though] so the kids could just swim all weekend and we could just hang out. However, catching a shot of Hannah after getting out of the pool, she just wasn’t impressed. She thought I was weird. I probably am.

Day 74 – Doing Homework

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Penguin slippers, iPod playing, hoodie so she can barely see. I guess she’s in the zone.

Day 5 – Coconut Milk

Monday, January 5th, 2009

At the grocery store today, the boys found a coconut and wanted to try it. James made 3 holes in it to fit the straws through so they could all taste it at once. The sour faces were hilarious! Only once we cracked it open we found that the coconut was rotten on the isnde. Poor kids. Connor thinks it should be called coconut juice though, since it looks nothing like milk. silly boy.
